I have for me that I have read somewhere that it was against the "law of war" to lower eg hospital ship Britannic.

Was it so or am I wrong?

Incidentally Britannic lies at approximately 120 meters depth and is said to be very well preserved. Investments are indeed broken, but the guts are said to be in very good condition.
